After reading Charlie Hoehn’s book The Recession-Proof Graduate*, I have decided to I’ve decided to be more proactive with my web identity. I apologize to Veronica Beaty of Texas, I’m sure she’s an amazing lady, but I am sick of searching my name online only to find third-party information aggregation pages full of information scraped off my elderly Myspace page.
If people care enough to Google my name, they deserve quality, relevant content. And who better to provide such content than me?
* which I highly recommend, and is available here
Hey V’ronica. I googled your name (accidentally. Thought I was in Gmail. Anyways.)
Just to let you know, this relevant-search-result-for-your-name-thing works so-so. This blog-thing was number six on my list, after whitepages, linkedin, blonde-from-Texas’ facebook page, your facebook page, and blonde-from-Texas’ myspace page. (Myspace?!?) Not to be mean to her (never!) but you seem to have won the Veronica Beaty Lottery.
Congrats,
Anna
